Abstract: The International Justice Clinic at the University of California, Irvine School of Law produced this report as an unofficial companion to a report provided in June 2015 to the Human Rights Council of the Special Rapporteur on “the protection and promotion of the right to freedom of opinion and expression.” It aims to provide analysis of the role of encryption in protecting human rights and a collection of additional resources alongside analysis, and alternative approaches.
